Business LED Signs

As you drive down the streets of your town, you begin to notice the open signs that shine in each of the store fronts. Neon may be the traditional light source of these signs, but the newest technology lighting up the day or night is LED. LED business signs are today’s brightest marketing choice for your business.

LED, standing for light-emitting diode, is a semi-conductor light source that was introduced as a practical electrical component in 1962. The very first LED’s emitted a low-intensity red light, but today’s versions are available in a rainbow of colors with very high brightness. In comparison to its neon counterpart, it uses very little energy to create its intense bright light, usually 6 to 10 times less than neon. It also contains no gases, so it is safer to use. A LED sign can be lit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and be expected to last at least 100,000 hours. It is cool and safe to the touch, since it uses such a low voltage for operation. LED is also very light weight, making it easy to work with and hang.

Consider the open signs again. The LED version is bright both day and night, making it easy for customers to see and inexpensive for store owners to use. It can be made animated or steady, creating a visual effect like none other. Although it can be more expensive in some cases, technology advances rapidly and LED will become more and more affordable as time moves on. Right now though, a nice, bright, animated LED open sign can be yours for less than $100. That is an affordable and essential piece of marketing for every business owner.

When making your choice, definitely consider LED over neon. You will be making an energy efficient choice that will be more earth friendly and easier on your pocket book! Everyone will win!

Welcome to the LED age!
